Yes, we know consultants are expensive. And believe us, we know all about the pressure to keep your fundraising costs low! But trust us when we say that the right consultant is (literally!) worth their weight in gold.
Here are the six most important reasons to hire a capital campaign consultant:
1. Add credibility to your campaign.
An experienced consultant will bring credibility to your campaign and boost your confidence.
2. Gain invaluable direction.
The consultant’s job, in part, is to help you make sense of your campaign. They’ll help you prioritize so you know what you’re doing today, tomorrow, next week, and so on. In turn, this sense of direction will help you “herd” your staff and board.
3. Get surefire ideas and strategies.
No matter how many capital campaigns you may have done, a good consultant has done more. As a result of having been around this block dozens of times (or more), they’ll be able to give you invaluable strategies that you probably never would have thought of on your own — including ideas for prepping your major donors to be asked.
